NOTES on Graphic Above

The graphic above is oriented with South at the top of the picture (North at the bottom).

Typographical error: the notation on the graphic which describes the date the seep was discovered and reported says 04-04-04. It should say 04-01-04.

The graphic above is a general conceptual representation of geographic locations of various features associated with the area near and affected by the West Divide Creek Seep. Locations are not precise nor are they to perfect scale; and, though every reasonable effort has been made to be accurate, should not be relied upon for accuracy. The map represents approximately 2000' of creek frontage and depicts approximate reference points for: West Divide Creek; the "Main Seep" location; wetlands (in green); and various beaver ponds.

'Turkey Point Beaver Pond" is an in-stream pond located on our property as is the Eicher/Bracken Beaver Pond (as it is referenced in official documentation) and the Enlarged Beaver Pond. This pond was found to be bubbling very very slightly, yet was sampled in 2007. The gas was found to be biogenic methane. That is, methane generated by the decomposition of organic materials.

"The Eicher/Bracken Beaver Pond" is an in-stream pond which experienced no gas venting/bubbling prior to the seep in 2004. It experienced significant gas venting/bubbling (flammable) at the height of the seep, in the Spring of 2004. It returned to normal after remediation (re-cementing of the Schwartz 215-B well) in 2004. Gas in the pond waters was sampled and determined to be biogenic methane.

"The Enlarged Beaver Pond" area of the in-stream pond configuration was built in the spring of 2007. It experienced no bubbling prior to activity noted in the early autumn of 2007. In the autumn of 2007 gas venting/bubbling became evident, and has increased to date (11-18-07). It was found to be flammable. The gas in the pond was sampled by collecting gas from the bottom soils while in the water, and it was - like the pond in 2004 - found to be biogenic methane. The area of bubbling is concentrated within the pond configuration. Despite the purported and evidently significant degree of decomposition occurring in the pond, it seems to favor only one particular area, and there - it vents with relatively vigorous and frequent regularity.
