Graphic representing drilling area and various other geographic features

  NOTES on Graphic Above

The graphic is oriented with North at the top of the picture.

The graphic above is a general conceptual representation of geographic locations of various features associated with the area within the former moratorium. Locations are not precise nor are they to perfect scale; and, though every reasonable effort has been made to be accurate, should not be relied upon for accuracy. The circle represents approximately two miles around the main seep site, and depicts approximate:  fault lines (dark green and purple dashed slash marks); well locations (red boxes -solid and hash-marked);  our property (blue rectangle);  2 1/2 +/- miles access road serving nine households (blue line);  main seep (red circle); other areas with seep and/or 'biogenic' bubbling activity (arrows from asterisk [*] box);  area of grass die-off (large red-shaded irregular area just to the upper left of center); and West Divide Creek (squiggly thin black line from point of southern confluence to point of northern confluence).

Lightning bolts represent pad sites with serious complications, or, in the case of O1E, unusual flaring operations.

Purple dashed and dark green (black appearing in photo) solid slash marks represent faults - These were demonstrated as an exhibit at the COGCC hearing in August 2004 and included as an aspect of state-required remediation efforts - in particular, soil survey data by "ESN Rocky Mountain".  Solid dark green (thicker) lines represent "interpreted lineaments from aeromagnetic and DEM data". Dashed purple lines represent "Rollins Faults (from Seismic)".

The information below on the proposed drilling schedule was provided by EnCana and confirmed in a letter dated November, 28, 2007. We are reminded in the letter, that it is, of course, based on the best information available at the time it was drafted and is always subject to change.

A10E - proposed pad (note the lighter hash-mark shading within the box)
Preliminary plans disclosed at the landowner meeting with EnCana indicate plans for 2 new wells as this location. One is already in place. The rig is scheduled to come onto the property on 04-01-09 and be off by 05-01-09.

P3 - (Arbaney) Well pad - known to have experienced high bradenhead pressure - 3 small seeps - massive "kick"
Preliminary plans disclosed at the landowner meeting with EnCana indicate plans for no new wells in this location. I don't know how many are here presently - but at least one.

F11E - (Brown) Well pad - known to have experienced high bradenhead pressure - lost cement bond
Preliminary plans disclosed at the landowner meeting with EnCana indicate plans for 9 new wells at this location. There is currently one in place [11-2C]. The rig is scheduled to come onto the property on 09-26-08 and be off by 12-20-08, to drill 5 new wells. The rig is scheduled to come onto the property on 07-17-09 and be off by 09-20-09, in order to drill the remaining 4 wells.

UPDATE 08-20-08: This is the next pad site to be hammered this week

02 (215-B 02) - (Schwartz) Well and pad - known to have experienced high bradenhead pressure - found by COGCC to have caused the West Divide Creek seep due to lost cement bond.
Preliminary plans disclosed at the landowner meeting with EnCana indicate plans for 5 new wells as this location. There is currently one in place -the infamous 215-B well. The rig is scheduled to come onto the property on 09-26-07 and be off by 12-01-07 in order to drill 3 new wells. Problems occurred with the initial rig and it had to be replaced delaying removal of the rig. The second round of drilling and use of the rig for the remaining 2 wells on this pad is as follows: on site - 05-26-08 / off site - 06-30-08.

UPDATE: 01-21-08 - 3 wells have been completed as of 01-21-08
UPDATE: 08-20-08 - all the wells have been completed on this pad

J2E - proposed (Schwartz) pad (note the lighter hash-mark shading within the box) located just north of 215-B
Preliminary plans disclosed at the landowner meeting with EnCana indicate plans for 4 new wells at his location. The rig is scheduled to come onto the property on 03-19-08 and be off by 05-26-08 to drill 4 new wells.

M1E - (Juniper Group) Well pad
Preliminary plans disclosed at the landowner meeting with EnCana indicate plans for 6 new wells at this location. There are currently 4 in place. The rig is scheduled to come onto the property on 12-22-08 and be off by 03-30-09 to drill the six new wells.

UPDATE: 08-20-08 - all the wells have been completed on this pad.

O1E - (Twin Creeks) Well pad - "encountered plug" which led to extensive flaring January 2004 (see photo at beginning of timeline) Preliminary plans disclosed at the landowner meeting with EnCana indicate plans for 10 new wells at this location. I don't know how many are here currently. The rig is scheduled to come onto the property on 07-02-08 and be off by 09-24-08 to drill the first 5 wells. Then, the rig is scheduled to come onto the property on 05-03-09 and be off by 07-15-09 to drill the remaining 5 wells. (Of note, the map we received from EnCana places one of the bottom hole locations directly under Divide Creek - though doubtless several thousand feet down. This pad is positioned on the canyon rim overlooking an area just North of Summerhawk valley and almost directly across from the old Native American burial site.)

According to plans disclosed at the landowner meeting with EnCana all proposed new wells are to be in place within 15 months of October 2007. A note at the bottom of the letter sent to "Our Former Moratorium Area Residents", dated 11-28-07, noted that "Any further drilling in this area is dependent upon drilling results from the above wells."
